Vegetables are your friends.

Eat your friends.

This week I learned that Alex is not a particularly big fan of vegetables. And it's started me thinking about that. I like most all vegetables. Shannon has a few very stong dislikes and a larger list of things that she's not real wild about. DO NOT try to feed her a pickle, or iceberg lettuce. Bad Things will happen. Then I thought about Sabrina not liking varous veges. And my sister Suzanne. And I've realized, I don't know of any guys that have wide spread vegetable dislikes. Brett doesn't like asparagus, but other than that most guys I know will eat their vegetables. Does this seem suprising to anyone else? I realize that my sample size is pretty small here, so you can help me out with it, but are girls the vegetable haters in the world?

Of course, I can't think of any guys who take vitamins on a regular basis. So atleast the girls have that one on us.

My mom loves every veggie you can think of except Brussel Sprouts. I guess I didn't get her genes, since, as you mentioned in your post, I definitely have strong opinions on which vegetables I will consume. However, all in all, I would say I know more girls who are picky about their veggies than guys. But, I think girls are just more picky about what they eat in general than guys. What can I say, we have more refined tastes.

I think you are forgetting that Stewart has some very particular vegetable tastes. Of course, now you're just going to say it's an Anderson thing. But I think that in general your statement is true, although it is counterintuitive, thinking of all those health-nut girls who just love salads and their male counterparts who like nothing but BEEF.

I take vitamins on a regular basis, so take that ladies!

Also, my brother (remember Bun?) has hated vegetables since time immemorial (that's some legal jargon for you, free of charge). Hates them all. Except corn, I think.

Mmm...beef. I do enjoy some good beef, medium rare. Vegetables, however, are not my friends - no matter what Dad claims! I blame my vegetable aversion to the old genetic test that we all did in high school - the PTC. Remember those little squares of paper you put in your mouth, and most people thought it was just paper and the other people started gagging? Many vegetables have PTC in them.

But I do like carrots, raw spinach, broccoli, green beans, and peas not from a can. The peas from a can are smooshy and gray.

Yes, I also have texture issues.

Oh, and pickles! Pickles are divine. Elliott agrees with Shannon that pickles are "Satan's condiment" so I get his pickles whenever we eat out.

But I don't like cucumbers.

Satan's condiment, I love it! And the only thing worse than pickles is the vile pickle relish. Pickles are gross, let's mash them up and make them look disgusting.

I agree with all statements regarding pickles as one of the worst foods on earth

Sorry this is a latecomer, but I have to say that it's because us boys got the living smack knocked out of us by our fathers for mouthing off at our mothers for trying to force feed us that we "learned" to like veggies while girls only had to cry to daddy and that was it. No more veggies.
